Emberspottery x Keneth / Bizen Update #2

Hello, this is Keneth and Amber, and we hope you’ve been well! Our time in Bizen has come to an end, and we’re now back in sunny Singapore ☀️

As we mentioned in our previous newsletter update, we spent our last few weeks in Bizen gearing up for the final hurrah of our trip - the wood firing! This method of firing, and the preparation for it, was something that neither of us had attempted before, and we were exposed to an entirely new realm of knowledge and techniques in the process of learning the skills behind firing a wood kiln.

Here are some shots of us preparing your pieces to be fired in the kiln, and what went down during the actual firing itself:

It was such an unforgettable and rewarding experience getting to be part of this, and when it was time to finally unload the kiln to reveal the finished pieces, we were stoked to see the results! The pieces we had spent a few weeks making came out beautifully, and we are so excited for them to finally be in your hands (:

Collection and Delivery

The pieces have yet to arrive in Singapore, but once they do, we will spend the next few days getting your pieces ready to be delivered to their new homes, and would like to offer two options for collection/delivery in early November. Please fill in the form below.

1. Collection at Singapore Clay Festival (2-5 Nov, Artspace @ Helutrans, Tanjong Pagar Distripark)

We will be having a booth at the Singapore Clay Festival from 2-5 Nov. For those of you who are planning to visit or are interested in checking the event out, we will be offering a self-collection option for your preordered wares at our booth during the event. While this is a ticketed event, we will be offering complimentary 1-day tickets for those who are opting for self-collection at Clay Fest if you don’t already have tickets. Instructions to redeem your free tickets will be sent to you if you opt for this option.

We recommend you come and collect them during this period if you wish to receive your pieces ASAP. We have a small selection of works available too for those who are interested, and you can take a look around at other maker’s works too at the Clay Festival!

2. Courier delivery / Self Collection (Estimated delivery: 6 Nov onwards)

For those who prefer to have their pieces delivered to their doorstep, we will also be offering delivery to your preferred local address in Singapore at an additional $5. Simply fill out the Google form below with your mailing address and we will be in touch to arrange for courier delivery.

Alternatively you may opt to self-collect (eg. friends/family of us.) and it can be arranged from 6 Nov onwards.
